PRIVACYPOLICY

Last updated: November 3, 2026

Operator is a free Mac app made by Martín Endara (Clicon, Buenos Aires). It sorts your Gmail and delivers a weekly front page. It runs entirely on your computer: there is no Operator server. This policy explains which data the app touches and what it does with it.

Which Google data it uses

Operator asks for a single permission: to read your Gmail (gmail.readonly). It cannot send, delete, move or modify email.

It reads your message headers (sender, recipients, subject, date and authentication stamps) and, for the letters it has to judge, the message text. It never opens attachments or links.

Where your data stays

Everything stays on your Mac, in the app's folder, readable only by your user. So does the Gmail access key.

A letter's text is kept only until Operator judges it, and then it is deleted. What remains is the envelope (sender, subject and date) and the decision it made.

What leaves your Mac

To judge some letters, Operator sends their sender, subject and text to an artificial intelligence model (today, Google's Gemini), using the API key you configure, in your name and under that provider's terms. We recommend a paid key that does not use your data to train models.

Clicon does not receive, see or keep your email or any other data of yours: Operator has no servers.

Limited Use

Operator's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Your data is used only to sort your email and build your front page. It is never used for advertising, never sold, and Operator does not use it to train artificial intelligence models.

App status

Operator is in private beta and has not yet been verified by Google. That is why Google shows an unverified-app warning when you grant the permission.

How to revoke access and delete everything

You can remove Operator's permission at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. To delete everything the app stored, delete the folder ~/Library/Application Support/Operator from your Mac.

Changes to this policy

If Operator changes what it does with your data, this page is updated before the change, with its new date.
